Orangebox HQ

What we did

In 2015 Orangebox expanded the company by occupying a 250,000 square foot HQ in Parc Nantgarw, Cardiff. The move brought the internal culture even closer together having a mixture of break-out areas, collaborative working facilities and a brand-new Canteen for all staff.

Logo

We were asked to give ‘The Canteen’ its own personal identity within the heart of the Orangebox headquarters. It's an environment that strikes the right balance of being clean and considered with a spark of excitement, so we created a bold and legible mark that compliments this setting.

We used a strong uppercase typeface accompanied by an orange circle, which is a subtle nod to temperature, refrigeration and freshness whilst retaining a connection to the Orangebox brand.

Brushed aluminium gave the logo the perfect finish against the oak wood panelling.

Welcome Pack

We created a welcome pack that the Orangebox showroom staff hand out to key visitors. The folder provides the visitor with a personalised agenda, business card and a booklet about Orangebox. It's DL size makes it easy to slip comfortably into a bag or work folder for safe keeping.

Canteen Graphics

We were asked to create the logo’s accompanying interior graphics for the canteen. We focussed are intentions on the protruding wall to right of the large serving counter because it was an ideal place for us to be bold.

We typed out a mass of ingredient names which we rotated, resized and positioned individually to create one big collage. We then enlarged the ‘O’ from the logo and used half on the protruding wall and the other half on the serving counter, which was a few metres behind, to create a 3d illusion.

Office Graphics

We played a supporting role alongside designer Russell Warren-Fisher in the creation of the massive amount of graphics found around the Orangebox headquarters. We were quite often required to turn Russell’s clever and beautiful creations into printable solutions.

Another part of our role was to liaise with the large format print supplier, to always be on site to oversee installation and to address any issues.

We've been working with Finibi Design from the onset. They are incredibly flexible and have the agility to support us in many areas. They provide a quick & thorough service and have been great at problem solving digital challenges.

Noticeboard

This noticeboard is one of our favourite digital projects.

Orangebox had a problem with staff pinning up too much irrelevant information on the original noticeboards so we suggested that we'd build a digital version for them.

These large touch screen monitors are located around many of their UK sites. Each screen can either share the same content or it can be tailored to its location.

This system has been become their local intranet, sharing both fun and important employee information. It presents everything from company policies, dairy dates, health & safety information, birthday wishes, jobs, news, the Canteen menu etc.

It was important for us that the users are never more than two touches away from the information they require. When left untouched the display fades to a screen that cycles through Orangebox products, with the latest company news, date and time.

The clever, bespoke back-end system allows the noticeboard to be shared amongst the various departments around the business, providing each department with the control to take care of their own content.
